1 pedestrian killed, 1 injured in Yuba County crash, CHP says


Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle in Yuba County on Wednesday night, and one man has died from his injuries, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash happened just before 9:15 p.m. in the area of N. Beale Road and Park Avenue in Linda.Officials said an 82-year-old man and a 44-year-old man were walking across N. Beale Road in a designated crosswalk when they were hit by a 32-year-old driver in a Honda Accord. The 82-year-old had major injuries and was taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital, officials said. He died on Thursday from his injuries. The 44-year-old man also had major injuries and was taken to Rideout Hospital for treatment, CHP said. Officials said witness statements indicate that the driver failed to notice the pedestrians in the roadway. The driver stayed on the scene and was speaking with investigators. CHP said that drugs or alcohol are not considered a factor in the crash.
