“It’s October 3rd,” Lohan says gleefully in the scene.
‘Mean Girls’ has birthed endless memes online
“Mean Girls” follows Heron, a homeschooled student who transfers to a high school ruled by all-girl clique The Plastics, played by Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried. Comedian and actress Tina Fey wrote the screenplay.
The film has become a fixture in pop culture, offering a slew of memes from iconic scenes that continue to take over social media timelines decades later.
Other popular moments are “You Go Glen Coco!,” “Stop trying to make fetch happen,” and “I want my pink shirt back!”
In 2024, singer Reneé Rapp starred in an iteration of “Mean Girls,” inspired by the Broadway musical and 2004 movie. The film presented a new twist on the modern classic, according to Paramount Pictures, the production house behind the film.
‘Mean Girls Day’ coincides with ‘Life of a Showgirl’ album release
This year, “Mean Girls” Day just so happens to be on the same day as the release of Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated 12th album, “Life of a Showgirl”. The official “Mean Girls” page on X made a nod to the album release coinciding with “Mean Girls” Day in a post yesterday with the caption, “Big day tomorrow,” and a picture of the iconic scene with the words “The Life of a Mean Girl”.
