Things have a way of breaking or not working on Thanksgiving—the worst of which would be your oven going kaput in the middle of roasting the turkey. When appliances decide they’ve had enough, you’re likely in frantic need of a home improvement store to save the day with a replacement part (or new oven). Which begs the question, is Lowe’s open on Thanksgiving?
There are certainly other reasons you’d have to hit up Lowe’s on Thanksgiving day (that DIY project can wait until Black Friday). Maybe you realize you’re short a lightbulb in the kitchen or need an extension cord for that slow-cooker buffet setup. A last-minute space heater could be helpful for chilly relatives, or even a replacement propane tank for the turkey fryer. Whatever the case, sometimes you need something from Lowe’s, even on a holiday.
Is Lowe’s Open on Thanksgiving?
As they’ve done for many years now, Lowe’s will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. More and more retailers are keeping stores closed for the November holiday to allow employees much-needed time with their own loved ones. So maybe have a nearby friend or relative’s oven on standby, should anything go haywire.
While the store is closed on Thanksgiving, that doesn’t mean you can’t still shop at Lowe’s; it will just have to be online.
On Thanksgiving Day, which is Nov. 27 this year, Lowe’s is hosting one-day, online-only deals. So, if you have a little time between watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and meal prep, it might be worth scanning Lowes.com for some limited-time markdowns. They’ll also be offering early access to their Black Friday Doorbusters online, but only for those who are MyLowe’s Rewards or MyLowe’s Pro Rewards members.
And don’t worry, Lowe’s will be open bright and early at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, with doorbusters available to everyone. Plus, there will be even more big deals on appliances, tools and other goodies the retailer carries.
Lowe’s has actually been going big on Black Friday deals since Oct. 30, when it launched Buy One, Get One, Two or Three offers on a bunch of tools from brands like Craftsman and Kobalt. That particular sale ended on Nov. 26, but expect to see various discounts on a rotating collection of items through Christmas.
