Bill Skarsgård’s horror series IT: Welcome to Derry wraps up this weekend with its Season 1 finale episode. What time will it be available on cable and streaming?
The first of this season’s eight IT: Welcome to Derry episodes premiered on Oct. 26. The official logline for the series reads, “Set in the world of Stephen King’s IT universe, IT: Welcome to Derry is based on King’s IT novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films IT and IT Chapter Two.”
IT: Welcome to Derry was developed for television by the two IT films’ director and producer Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, as well as IT: Chapter Two co-producer Jason Fuchs.
In addition to Skarsgård — who reprises his role as the murderous Pennywise the Dancing Clown from the trio’s IT movies — IT: Welcome to Derry also stars Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso.
IT: Welcome to Derry is set in 1962, 27 years before Muscietti’s first IT movie, which took place in 1989.
Titled Winter Fire, the eighth and final episode of IT: Welcome to Derry’s first season is set to premiere on cable on HBO at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will begin streaming on HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET.

How Have Critics Received ‘IT: Welcome To Derry’?
IT: Welcome to Derry’s Rotten Tomatoes’ critics’ score has slightly improved from its score at the beginning of the season. As of Friday, the serie has an 80% “fresh” critics’ score on RT based on 145 reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus for the series reads, “While scattered plotting occasionally drains the fear from its chilling premise, IT: Welcome to Derry compellingly deepens the myth of Pennywise through sharp social commentary, a dreadful atmosphere, and committed performances.”
In addition, IT: Welcome to Derry currently has a 76% “fresh” Popcornmeter score on RT based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings.
The first seven episodes of IT: Welcome to Derry are available on HBO Max. The IT: Welcome to Derry season finale will begin Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO on cable and will start streaming on HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET.
