Given John Harbaugh’s track record of preferring his offensive coordinator to have play-calling on his résumé, it comes as no surprise that he has included Kliff Kingsbury and Brian Callahan on his candidate list, The Post confirmed.
In his 18 years with the Ravens, Harbaugh always leaned toward experience and proven NFL results when selecting an offensive coordinator.
That is the most important hire remaining for Harbaugh as he puts together his first Giants coaching staff.
Kingsbury, 46, fits Harbaugh’s wish list, as far as experience.
He ran his Air Raid offense as Texas Tech head coach with Patrick Mahomes and used that success to land the Cardinals head coach job.
For the past two years, he was the Commanders offensive coordinator, and in 2024 he helped quarterback Jayden Daniels enjoy a spectacular rookie season.
After the Commanders dropped to 5-12 in 2025, Washington head coach Dan Quinn parted ways with Kingsbury.
Callahan, 41, is also a former NFL head coach.
He went 3-14 in 2024 with the Titans and then was fired last season after the Titans got off to a 1-5 start.
Previously, Callahan gained acclaim as the Bengals offensive coordinator.
He is the son of longtime NFL coach Bill Callahan, a noted offensive line coach currently with the Falcons.
Harbaugh is taking his time with this hire.
He has spoken with Jim Bob Cooter (Colts offensive coordinator), Davis Webb (Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach) and Alex Tanney (Colts passing game coordinator).

Webb and Tanney are former Giants backup quarterbacks.
With the Ravens, Harbaugh opted for several offensive coordinators with head coach or play-calling experience: Cam Cameron, Jim Caldwell, Gary Kubiak, Marc Trestman, Marty Mornhinweg, Greg Roman and Todd Monken.
Harbaugh wanted to bring Monken with him to the Giants, but Monken was hired as Browns head coach.
