After 5 Years, Prime Video’s Action Series With Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Keeps Getting Better Ahead Of 2026 Return

One of Prime Video‘s best TV shows comes back soon with a new season, and this action series that is both loved by critics and the audience manages to keep getting better as it moves along. Prime Video’s best TV shows include action series like Reacher, Jack Ryan, and superhero projects like The Boys, which has revitalized the genre and led to spinoffs.

The message is clear, as many of Prime Video’s most successful original series are action-packed releases. That is something audiences can’t get enough of when it comes to the streaming service, and due to that, multi-season action series have become a repeating feature for Prime Video. Ahead of its 2026 return, it is clear that this 4-season series only keeps getting better.

How Prime Video’s 4-Season Superhero Series Keeps Getting Better

Invincible’s Mark Grayson breaks his yellow suit to reveal his blue costume underneath

The TV show in question is the adult-animated superhero series Invincible. The show is based on the hit comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, one of the medium’s most successful authors, and the mastermind behind another hit franchise, The Walking Dead. Invincible season 1 debuted on Prime Video on March 25, 2021. Almost exactly five years later, season 4 arrives on March 18.

Invincible‘s star-studded cast includes names like Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Seth Rogen, Sandra Oh, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Walton Goggins, Mark Hamill, Gillian Jacobs, and many more. With every new season, the treasure trove of talent working on this show just keeps growing. For instance, Lee Pace, the star of Apple TV’s Foundation, debuts in Invincible season 4 as Thragg, the superhero franchise’s biggest villain.

Another reason why Invincible keeps getting better is that the show grows with its lead character, Mark Grayson, who starts the story as a teenager discovering his powers and is now a hero who has endured plenty of death, and that has hardened him. Additionally, on Rotten Tomatoes, after season 1’s already stellar 98% critics’ score, seasons 2 and 3 reached a perfect 100%.

Invincible Season 4 Is Worth Watching

For those who might need a refresher on where Invincible season 3’s ending left things, season 4 of the Prime Video series is definitely worth watching. Like I already mentioned, Lee Pace is set to debut as Thragg, who is the biggest and most dangerous threat in the Invincible comics. Based on his frightening villain turn in Foundation, Pace should knock it out of the park.

After Mark nearly killed Conquest, Cecil made the poor call of imprisoning the villain and keeping him alive. That should backfire immensely. Additionally, after a long absence, Damien Darkblood is returning with a Hell-centric storyline that never made its way into the comics. The Sequids, Battle Beast, and Angstrom Levy all received future teases, and Mark decided he would kill villains who threaten his family, fundamentally changing Invincible.
