Packers sign 5 of 6 draft picks to start 2026 rookie minicamp

The Green Bay Packers signed five of the team’s six draft picks as rookie minicamp kicked off in Green Bay on Friday.

The only draft pick left to be signed is the team’s top pick, second-round cornerback Brandon Cisse.

Third-round pick Chris McClellan (No. 77 overall), fourth-round pick Dani Dennis-Sutton (No. 120 overall), fifth-round pick Jager Burton (No. 153 overall), sixth-round pick Domani Jackson (No. 201 overall) and sixth-round pick Trey Smack (No. 216 overall) all signed their four-year rookie contracts.

With most of the details already in place via the rookie wage scale, which was put in place by the CBA, the majority of rookie contracts in the NFL get done fast and easily.

Over the Cap has estimates on the new contracts:

  • McClellan: Four years, $7.14 million, $1.65 million signing bonus
  • Dennis-Sutton: Four years, $5.53 million, $1.15 million signing bonus
  • Burton: Four years, $4.89 million, $512K signing bonus
  • Jackson: Four years, $4.66 million, $277K signing bonus
  • Smack: Four years, $4.59 million, $211K signing bonus

Just for reference, the Packers did not sign second-round pick Anthony Belton until mid-July last year. Second-round picks have more bargaining power after Jayden Higgins signed a fully guaranteed deal in 2025. The negotiation between the Packers and Cisse will likely center around percentage of the deal that is fully guaranteed, as was the case for Belton last summer.
