Santee murder suspect Zaquan Jamison arrested after manhunt

A 20-year-old wanted for murder and 10 counts of attempted murder was arrested after calling North Charleston police to surrender.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A man wanted in connection with a murder in Santee has been arrested after turning himself in in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police Department said 20-year-old Zaquan Shaquez Jamison called dispatchers, identified himself and announced he wished to turn himself in on outstanding warrants. He was arrested after walking out of an Evanston Boulevard home. From there, he was taken to Al Cannon Detention Center before being taken into custody by the Santee Police Department.

Santee Police Chief Kevin Borghi identified the suspect on Thursday and said he is facing one count of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder, along with a charge for possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

These stem from a shooting that happened on Boo Circle in mid-January and claimed the life of 17-year-old Ja’Mareion Crawford. Chief Borghi said the 10 attempted murder charges were filed because there were several other people in the home at the time.

The chief said at the time that more arrests were pending in the case.
