We’re less than a month away from the massive Fourth of July celebration, and we’re sending a word of warning for everyone who is going to Disney World for the holiday.
As we get ready for the holiday at Disney World, which will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we have a feeling transportation from some areas around the property will become difficult.
Why do we think transportation will be difficult? Well, we need to go back to Easter and Spring Break of this year, because Disney did something extremely interesting at Disney Springs to combat the crowds.

During Spring Break this year, if you wanted to get on a bus to a nearby hotel from Disney Springs, you had to show Cast Members your hotel or restaurant reservation. There were barricades near the entrances to the bus lines in the shopping and dining district to keep people from just walking to them. Guest Relations Cast Members were stationed nearby with iPads, and they were checking with people why they were heading to the resorts.

If this were used during a busy holiday at Disney World to control crowds, we have a feeling we might see it again for the Fourth of July. This year is a HUGE celebration in America, as it’s a milestone birthday. So, if you’re coming to the parks, just beware that transportation from Disney Springs to the hotels may be extremely limited to hotel guests only.
We called Disney to see if we could confirm, and one Cast Member mentioned these restrictions should roll out on June 28th. The AllEars team will be on the ground during the Fourth of July week to see what’s going on and confirm details. At this time, there are some reports of the change being permanent, but Disney has yet to verify.

There are going to be so many awesome things happening around Walt Disney World for the anniversary, including things like the Fourth of July Fireworks, the Electrical Water Pageant, exclusive character experiences, and limited-time food. We’re sure it’s going to get BUSY.

Of course, there will also be the exclusive entertainment! Magic Kingdom will have its nighttime spectacular, Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky. The show will play across all three nights of the holiday weekend on July 3rd, July 4th, and for the first time, on July 5th. The fireworks take place at Cinderella Castle, and you can see them from the front of the castle as well as along Main Street, U.S.A.

There will also be exclusive fireworks at EPCOT called Heartbeat of Freedom, and it is something special! This show is usually only held once a year on July 4th, but to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, it will be shown on three nights this year — July 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 9:15 PM nightly. It’s a 5-minute patriotic finale shown directly after Luminous: The Symphony of Us.
