CASTLE Park is closed to the public due to an incident.
Colchester Museums has announced Castle Park and Colchester Castle are currently closed due to a police incident in the park.
It was reported at 9.27am.
The post said: “Due to an ongoing police incident this morning, Castle Park has been closed to the public.
“As a result, Colchester Castle will be closed today.
“We do not currently have further details but the closure is expected to remain in place for the day.
“We apologise for an inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.”
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called to Castle Park, Colchester, at just after 8am today (Thursday 24 July) to concerns for the welfare of a person.
“We are currently at the scene and the park has been temporary closed.
“We will update you as soon as possible.”
