Andy Cohen Blasts ‘Idiot’ Critics Of Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show

Talk about the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show featuring Bad Bunny is continuing.

The NFL announced in late September that Bad Bunny would be headlining the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show in Santa Clara. Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican rapper and singer, is one of the biggest musicians in the world. The iconic music star, who performs many of his songs in Spanish, is consistently atop the streaming charts, along with the likes of Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen.

The league made the decision to go with Bad Bunny in collaboration with Apple Music and Roc Nation, led by Jay Z.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

The NFL has been criticized by some for the pick, with President Trump and Danica Patrick, among others, sounding off on the league’s decision.

President Trump has said that it’s “absolutely ridiculous” that Bad Bunny will be in the spotlight on Super Bowl Sunday.

“I don’t know why they’re doing it,” Trump said on NewsMax. “I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

The NFL is standing by its decision.

“Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene. As one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages, and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl halftime stage,” said Jon Baker, the SVP of Global Event Production for the NFL. “We know his dynamic performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment.”

Andy Cohen blasts the critics

Andy Cohen, who hosts “Watch What Happens Live” while producing several of Bravo’s top reality shows, recently appeared on “Call Her Daddy” with Alex Cooper.

The longtime reality TV show host blasted the critics.

“Yes. YES. He’s an American, you (expletive) idiots,” Cohen said when asked by Cooper if he liked Bad Bunny.

“God. Puerto Rico is in America! Swimming in a sea of (expletive) idiots.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had previously stated that the league would not reconsider its choice.

“It’s carefully thought through,” Goodell said earlier this year. “I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.”

Super Bowl 60 is set to take place on Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
