Anna Kendrick & Seth Rogen in talks to star in comedy-drama ‘Babies’

Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen are in negotiations to lead the upcoming ensemble comedy-drama ‘Babies,’ which will be directed by Lauren Miller Rogen (Like Father) from her original screenplay.

The film follows Annie (Kendrick) and her husband, Aaron (Rogen), a couple struggling with the question of whether to bring a child into the world. Their lives are turned upside down when their newly divorced friend moves in—bringing her 3-year-old along—and the pair suddenly find themselves in the deep end of co-parenting.

Described as a heartfelt yet comedic exploration of the messy, emotional, and hilarious realities of modern parenthood—and the choice not to pursue it — ‘Babies’ aims to blend sharp humour with genuine emotional depth.

Production is slated to begin this November in Los Angeles. The project is being produced by Lylas Pictures’ Miller Rogen and Jen W. Ray, AGC Studios’ chairman and CEO Stuart Ford, and Monarch’s partner and CEO Steve Barnett. Executive producers include AGC’s Miguel A. Palos, Jr. and Zach Garrett, Monarch’s Alan Powell and Vicky Patel, and Lylas’ Sophie Høegh.

‘Babies’ marks another collaboration for Miller Rogen, who continues to carve out a unique space in comedic storytelling with an emphasis on relationships, identity, and family in all its complicated forms.
