Bears looking to trade OL Jordan McFadden

The clock is ticking down to the NFL roster cutdown deadline, and the Chicago Bears could be looking to part with a versatile offensive lineman. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Bears are exploring trade options for offensive lineman Jordan McFadden.

The Bears claimed McFadden off waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers in January, and he has been working with the reserves throughout training camp. As Fowler notes, McFadden has logged 124 snaps over the last couple of preseason games and earned a PFF grade of 79.9.

Unfortunately, McFadden is caught in a logjam of interior offensive linemen, and his odds for making the final 53-man roster are slim. General manager Ryan Poles could find a trade partner to send McFadden and a 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, similar to a deal he made last year with the Cleveland Browns to acquire defensive tackle Chris Williams.

We’ll see if Poles can find a team interested in McFadden’s services, but it appears his time with the Bears is coming to an end one way or another.
