Landman made an explosive debut when it released its first season in late 2024 into early 2025 to became a ratings boon and mega-hit for Paramount+. The first season of the Big Oil drama from Yellowstone co-creator and prolific hitmaker Taylor Sheridan introduced viewers to Tommy Norris, the West Texas oil fixer played by Billy Bob Thornton, and his fiery family played by Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland.
After killing off Jon Hamm’s oil tycoon Monty Miller, the season one finale set up Tommy to take over his late boss’ oil company alongside Monty’s wife, Cami, played by Demi Moore. Landman’s co-creator Christian Wallace had teased that the ending set up Moore for a larger role in season two, and now the teaser trailer released on Thursday confirms that.
Not only does the first look at season two (below) bring more of a Moore presence — “The only difference between me and my husband is I’m meaner,” Cami tells a room full of potential investors — but the new season also pits Tommy and Cami against in each other in their new partnership.
“She owns the company, but I run it,” Tommy declares, as violence once again rears its head, both on and off the oil fields. Tommy’s newly reconciled wife Angela (Larter) and college-bound daughter Ainsley (Randolph) make flashy appearances, and the trailer also introduces new castmember Sam Elliot, who returns to the Sheridan-verse after starring in Yellowstone prequel 1883.
When speaking recently to The Hollywood Reporter, Larter had teased that the highly anticipated second season would be a rollercoaster after the dramatic cliffhanger finale around Tommy’s oil business future. “You hold the heart of the show being the family, and then you have all these other storylines. It’s game on,” she said of Tommy’s new life pressures, which include a partnership with a local cartel led by Andy Garcia’s character. “The beauty of their marriage is that you get to see so much humanity in Tommy because of how he is with Angela.”
Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore also round out the cast.
