The latter joined the newly-promoted side earlier this summer but has featured for just 13 minutes across Sunderland’s opening three Premier League fixtures.
He made his only start in the midweek Carabao Cup clash against Huddersfield Town, scoring in a 1-1 draw before Sunderland lost on penalties.
Chelsea will assess whether recalling the 19-year-old is an option before proceeding with transfer business. Guiu joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2024 and scored six times in 16 appearances across all competitions last season.
