TUESDAY: Morning clouds and showers will continue to push across the Mid-South along a quick moving area of low pressure. Farther north, rain chances will tend to remain limited; highs will top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s as clouds slowly begin to exit late in the day. Expect skies to gradually clear overnight as lows fall off into the upper 50s and lower 60s.
WEDNESDAY: A cool start – well into the 50s for many; near 60 for some – we’ll rebound with a fair amount of sunshine through the course of the day. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 80s. Gradually, clouds will begin to increase ahead of our next system that could bring a chance for a few showers after midnight with lows falling to the lower to middle 60s.
EXTENDED PERIOD: Our next system will be poised to sneak past the area through Thursday and early Friday – with much-needed rain expected across the region. Locally, up to 1-2″ will be possible. We’ll trend drier through Friday and heading into Labor Day weekend. Expect a mix of clouds and sun with continued comfortable highs in the lower to middle 80s – that trend looks to last even into early September.
COLOR THE WEATHER: Action News 5 is bringing back an old favorite for the kids – the COLOR THE WEATHER program in conjunction with McDonald’s. Each morning at 6:30 AM, Patrick will show ONE Color the Weather photo and showcase it on the air. You can get the photo to color either at participating Memphis area McDonald’s locations, or you can CLICK HERE and download the picture. Color it and upload it with your name and city to actionnews5.com – then tune in each morning to see if your photo is chosen!
