Nothing really matters in NBA coaching contracts, but Caroline, like, I just, I question a little bit what happened that suddenly made Lakers brass say, oh my God, we rewatched last year.
Got to lock him up; don’t want him unhappy.
What did you all of a sudden see that it warrants an extension?
But to answer your question, maybe it wasn’t what we saw, you know, what the Lakers front office saw, what the Lakers’ ownership saw.
Maybe it was everything to do with that man right there.

I just, man, organizationally, how long are the Lakers gonna chase what everybody wants to try and keep everybody happy for what as a result?
Like, the Lakers as an organization are judged on banners.
And I asked when LeBron was acquired, how many championships would it take for LeBron to become an all-time great?
Laker, not an all-time great player.
I’m not talking about that.
An all-time great Laker.
I would ask the same thing to Luca.
How many championships is Luca gonna have to win for Luca to be put in the same breath as some of the Laker greats?

So maybe he wants JJ, fine.
But I also look at the head coach and say, OK, you played really well down the backstretch of the season with LeBron and Luca.
Like how many professional NBA coaches would put out a team that sucks with LeBron?
And Luca.
So JJ handled the market and he handled the coaching moment.
He was fine.
He showed in year one that he can coach, but I just don’t think it resonate with me.
