Dodgers’ Tanner Scott Exits Monday’s Game With Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Tanner Scott exited Monday’s game with an apparent injury.

Scott threw 22 pitches before leaving the game in the top of the ninth inning with the Dodgers up 5-1. He appeared to be flexing his throwing arm before exiting the game.

Scott left the game with runners on first and second and one out in a 3-2 count. Kirby Yates came in and immediately walked the batter, loading the bases. He then gave up a sacrifice fly and a deep fly ball to Carlos Correa that James Outman caught at the wall in center field to give the Dodgers a 5-2 win.

Now, the focus shifts to Scott, who is in the first season of a four-year, $72 million deal.

Scott has struggled mightily this season, blowing seven saves and sporting a 4.14 ERA after allowing a run in Monday’s game.

The Dodgers were already expected to target a late inning reliever at the July 31 deadline next week. That urgency will greatly increase if Scott is forced to miss significant time.

Tanner Scott Injury Update

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game that Scott felt a “sting” in his forearm and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

He said Scott is “emotionally not well.”

“Obviously anytime a pitcher comes out of the game,” Roberts added, “it’s concerning.”

Roberts said it’s “most likely an IL” situation.
