Ryan Day shares his thoughts after Ohio State’s 37-9 win over Ohio University, reflecting on the Buckeyes’ performance.
Ohio State football’s campaign to become the first back-to-back national champion since Georgia is off to a strong start.
Then in the last two weeks, Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith put together back-to-back breakout games against Grambling State and Ohio to show that Ohio State’s offense is still explosive in 2025.
The Buckeyes now will look to bring their success from their non-conference portion of the schedule into Big Ten play, in which they will strive to secure their first Big Ten championship game victory since they won four straight from 2017 through 2020.
Here’s when the Buckeyes are set to return, including a look at Ohio State’s remaining schedule:
Does Ohio State football play today?
No, Ohio State is on the first of its two bye weeks of the 2025 college football season. Day’s squad will return to action next week when they travel cross country to Seattle to take on Washington in their Big Ten opener.
Next week’s Big Ten lidlifter will mark the first time the Buckeyes have faced the Huskies since the Rose Bowl in 2019 when Dwayne Haskins threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns to give Ohio State it’s then-eighth win in the City of Roses.
Ohio State’s game at Washington also kicks off a four-game stretch for the Buckeyes that includes three road games, with the others being at No. 8 Illinois and at Wisconsin. The Buckeyes lone home game in this upcoming stretch comes on Saturday, Oct. 4 against Minnesota.
