LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce appears to have traded in the Silver & Black for Kansas City red and gold.
Pierce was spotted at the division rival Chiefs’ training camp on Wednesday morning.
Video captured by FOX4 News’ Harold Kuntz showed him wearing a Chiefs hoodie and shorts as he walked with Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
It’s unclear what brought Pierce to the Chiefs’ training camp, though he has a connection to the coaching staff.
Spagnuolo was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 2007 and 2008, when Pierce was a linebacker on the team. Their time together included the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII victory over the New England Patriots.
Initially hired as a linebackers coach for the Raiders, Pierce stepped into the role of interim head coach in 2023 following the firing of Josh McDaniels and went 5-4 to close out the year.
He was hired permanently last offseason, but the team fired him a year later after going 4-13 for the 2024 season.
Las Vegas has since hired Pete Carroll to take over as head coach.
The Raiders and Chiefs have a bitter rivalry dating back to their days in the now-defunct American Football League. Kansas City leads the overall series 75-55-2, including a 2-0 record against Pierce’s Raiders last year.
The Raiders play their first preseason game under Carroll at Seattle on Thursday. Kansas City is scheduled to travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals on Saturday.
