ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – FIRST ALERT DAY: Strong to severe thunderstorms are likely overnight. Make sure you have a way to receive important weather alerts.
Severe Storm Outlook:
A level 4 threat has been placed for our western counties along I-35. A level 3 threat of severe storms extends east for areas along Highway 52 and the Mississippi River.
Areas in red will have the highest probability of strong winds exceeding 70 mph.
Threats for Tonight:

Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat tonight. Areas in pink could have wind gusts exceeding 70 mph after 10 p.m. The tornado threat is low, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.
TIMING FOR STORMS:

This is a very rough estimate in terms of storm timing overnight. Right now, the current thinking is that storms will approach I-35 by 10-11 p.m. tonight. Storms will move near Highway 52 by 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. This timing is not set in stone and will change depending on how fast storms are moving.
BOTTOM LINE:
Have a way to receive alerts overnight. Storms will impact most of our region after bedtime. Be safe!
