Monday Forecast:

The strong winds are drying out the atmosphere, this leaves Houston with no moisture heightening the risk for Fire Danger. The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for all of SE Texas through Monday evening. As of Thursday over 80% of SE Texas is under drought conditions and some western counties are in extreme drought. With our dry conditions and gusty winds we will have to be extra mindful of the wildfire risk.

Dry vegetation, low relative humidity and strong winds can make any new flames spread quickly. Avoid activities that require burning.

Tuesday’s Forecast:

Tuesday morning the cold air continues to hug SE Texas. Another morning with temperatures in the 30s but by the afternoon we warm into the 70s.

Frost potential mainly north of Houston but cold morning temperatures for everyone.

This cold blast doesn’t last long, by the middle of next week we’ll be back to near 80 degrees.

The cold snap comes to an end before you know it!

Your extended forecast:

Rain chances won’t roll back in until next weekend and it won’t be enough to take SE Texas out of a drought.
