The Kennesaw State men’s basketball team is heading to the 2026 NCAA Tournament after winning Conference USA. In the CUSA Tournament, the Owls defeated Western Kentucky 96-87, Sam Houston 79-73, and Louisiana Tech 71-60 in the championship game to clinch the auto-bid.
The Owls are 21-13 overall entering the NCAA Tournament and on a 3-game winning streak.
Kennesaw State NCAA Tournament Appearances
In 2026, Kennesaw State basketball will make its 2nd appearance in the Division I NCAA Tournament.
The Owls also reached the tourney in 2023.

Kennesaw State has not won a game in the Division I NCAA Tournament.
The Owls are 0-2 in the Big Dance, losing to Xavier in 2023 and Gonzaga in 2026.


Kennesaw State Basketball Coach Antoine Pettway
Antoine Pettway is in his third season leading the KSU basketball program.
He was named the eighth head coach in KSU men’s basketball history on April 8, 2023. The Owls finished 15-16 in his first season before going 19-14 in 2024-25 and surpassing 20 wins this year.
Before arriving at KSU, Pettway spent 15 years on the Alabama coaching staff. Prior to joining the Alabama staff in the summer of 2008, he spent two years as an assistant coach at Jacksonville State.
Pettway played college basketball at Alabama, going from a walk-on to a starter.
