After 14 races in 2025, Hamilton is yet to record a grand prix podium for Ferrari, taking a best finish of fourth at Imola, in Austria and in his home British GP. It is the first time in his career he has failed to score a podium before the summer break.
The 202-time podium sitter is also on the worst run of his career, having not stood on a grand prix podium in 16 races, stretching back to a second place at the 2024 Las Vegas GP for Mercedes.
Hamilton’s Ferrari struggles have been well-documented this year, with a particular gripe being the brakes of the Ferrari, which use Brembo materials compared to the Carbon Industrie ones Mercedes uses.
After a particularly difficult qualifying in Hungary, where he was 12th, Hamilton declared he was “useless” and that Ferrari should look for “another driver.”
He finished a lapped 12th in that race, but signalled he would be at the Dutch Grand Prix after the summer break, with F1 fans overwhelmingly backing the seven-time champion to score a podium at some point.
In the poll, a variety of scenarios were put forward, with no single one achieving an outright majority, but the plurality was achieved by those believing Hamilton would claim just a single podium.
That achieved 31.92% of votes cast, with almost three-quarters of voters, 72.8%, believing he will claim a podium.
However, nearly one in four voters, 22.69%, believed Hamilton would go through the entire season without a podium.
