Notes: Boston has won five of its last seven and owns the American League’s best record (34-18) since July 1, but entered Sunday having scored no more than three runs during any of its five straight home losses. “I feel like, through that skid, we were hitting balls really hard. That’s baseball,” Duran said. “At the end of the day, you can hit the ball hard and still get out. Those first two games [of the weekend series] don’t define us. We’re just going to keep rolling and keep doing our thing.” … Bello is 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA in two career starts against Cleveland. … Sunday ended with the Red Sox signing closer Aroldis Chapman to a one-year contract extension for the 2026 season with a mutual option for another year.
