A 35-year-old WNBA veteran didn’t come through for me on Thursday, so I’m switching things up and going with a 23-year-old rookie tomorrow. The top overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers, isn’t disappointing in her first season in the league, leading the Dallas Wings in scoring and assists.
While ‘Paige Buckets’ has averaged 18.3 points per game this season, she’s really lit up the Indiana Fever, who will be visiting the American Airlines Center in Dallas tomorrow night. Bueckers has gone off for 21 and 27 points in her two meetings with the Fever this season. She’s also on a hot streak, topping 20 points in her last two games, and has scored at least 20 four times in her last seven games.
Plus, Indiana has a below-average defense, ranking eighth in the 12-team league in defensive rating. I think Bueckers can get buckets against them again on Friday.
