Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians (51-51) have won seven of their last 10 games and took three of four from the Baltimore Orioles this week. They dropped the series finale, snapping a four-game winning streak.
They are still eight games behind the slumping Detroit Tigers for the top spot in the AL Central, but have crept just three games behind the Boston Red Sox for the final wildcard spot.
Cleveland is averaging 5.6 runs per game and have compiled 13 home runs while Guardians pitching has allowed a 3.71 ERA in the 10-game span. It’s a far cry from their offensive production overall this season, which has been near the bottom of the barrel in hits (746) and batting average (.224).
The Guardians are 26-26 on the road and 25-25 at home this season. Cleveland is 7-3 in its last 10 meetings with the Royals, including a 4-2 advantage this season.
