Tennis Tracker: Kalinskaya to face Fernandez in women’s final

It’s finals day at 250 events in Kitzbuhel, Prague and Umag, while the ATP and WTA tournaments in Washington get set for some intriguing semi-finals.

04:10 CET – Alex De Minaur takes down Corentin Moutet 6-4, 6-3 with 17 of 21 net points won, making it his 20th hard-court win of the year.

De Minaur now returns to the DC Open final for the second time, previously moving on to the final round when he was 19 years old in 2018.

03:00 CET – Anna Kalinskaya defeats Emma Raducanu in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

This now marks eight straight set wins for Kalinskaya as she reaches her third-career final, her first ever in Washington. She will face Leylah Fernandez, who took down Elena Rybakina earlier in three sets.

23:52 CET – Leylah Fernandez is the first woman into the Washington decider, having just beaten Elena Rybakina 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 in the opening semi-final in the US capital.

The Canadian rallied back from being 7-6, 5-3 down to upset the third-seeded Kazakh, who will be sorely disappointed not to have finished off the job from that position.

Fernandez will face the winner of Anna Kalinskaya and Emma Raducanu in tomorrow’s final.

You can follow the second semi-final here.

22:09 CET – Luciano Darderi has beaten Carlos Taberner 6-3, 6-3 to claim the crown in Umag, Croatia!

The second-seeded Italian is in a rich vein of form, having claimed back-to-back titles in Umag and Bastad last week.

The 23-year-old has now won four ATP 250 events, three this year, and all of them have come on clay.

19:10 CET – We’re just 50 minutes away from the third final of the day, as second seed Luciano Darderi comes up against Carlos Taberner in the Umag showpiece event.

16:30 CET – In an all-Czech final at the Livesport Prague Open, Marie Bouzkova has recovered from a set down to defeat top seed Linda Noskova 2-6, 6-1, 6-3.

It’s a second career WTA title for Bouzkova, who also captured the crown in Prague back in 2022, having beaten Noskova en route that year too!

The 27-year-old Czech becomes the fifth player to defeat the top seed in a WTA final in 2025, after Madison Keys (Adelaide, Australian Open), Mirra Andreeva (Indian Wells), Jelena Ostapenko (Stuttgart) and Coco Gauff (Roland Garros).

16:14 CET – The recent resurgence of Alexander Bublik shows no signs of slowing down!

Having already claimed titles in Halle and Gstaad this summer, the mercurial Kazakh has continued his superb form, seeing off Arthur Cazaux 6-4, 6-3 in the Kitzbuhel final this afternoon.

That’s now seven ATP titles for Bublik, who has won 17 of his last 19 matches on Tour.

14:40 CET – The day’s second final – the Kitzbuhel decider between Alexander Bublik and Arthur Cazaux – is underway now as well.

13:42 CET – Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova will compete for the Livesport Prague Open title this afternoon, as the Czech duo target silverware on home soil.

The pair have met three times before, with Bouzkova leading the head-to-head 2-1, although Noskova won their most recent meeting at the Australian Open last year. In 2022, the pair met in the semi-finals as Bouzkova came out on top.

11:48 CET – We’re just over a couple of hours away from our first final of the day, as top seed Linda Noskova takes on compatriot Marie Bouzkova in the Prague showpiece at 14:00 CET.

Shortly after, Alexander Bublik faces Arthur Cazaux in the Kitzbuhel final, with the in-form Kazakh looking to win a second successive tournament following his success in Gstaad last week.

Then, later this evening, second seed Luciano Darderi comes up against Spain’s Carlos Taberner in Umag. That final is due to get underway at 20:00 CET.

09:24 CET – Before we look ahead to today’s finals in Europe, there was a shock result in the early hours of the morning in Washington, with top seed Taylor Fritz throwing away a 5-2 lead in the final set to lose 7-6(3), 3-6, 7-5 against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in over three hours.
