A scoring milestone that Bryant held for two decades. However, in Adebayo’s case, the credibility continues to be questioned by many. The reason was the route taken to reach it, whether it was 43 free-throw attempts or intentionally fouling in the end for possession.

That said, the No. 1 spot for the highest-scoring individual game continues to belong to Wilt Chamberlain and his iconic 100 piece. Though many believe the iconic feat will always be etched in Wilt the Stilt’s name, there are often talks around potential candidates who could achieve the impossible.Recently, on the Crossover Podcast, former NBA point guard Tim Hardaway Sr. was asked the same question. Acknowledging the unlikeliness of it, the veteran did have one name in mind.

“I’m going to tell you one guy, and I really, if he gets on a roll, and I seen him get on a roll … That fu-kin Luka … Luka is one guy that can get a 100. That dude is unstoppable one-on-one and sometimes one-on-two. I mean, if anybody can do it, it could be Luka. That dude can put the ball in the bucket,”exclaimed Hardaway Sr.
One could indeed find it hard to argue Tim’s choice of candidate, considering the Slovenian sensation is one of the most prolific scorers of the modern era.
At the 73 mark
The closest Doncic has come to capturing Chamberlain’s elusive record is his 73-point performance against the Atlanta Hawks in 2024. The former Dallas Mavericks guard also had 10 rebounds and 7 assists, and was highly efficient, 25-for-33 from the field.

Talking about his scoring prowess, Doncic has three 60-point and nine 50-point games to his credit thus far. Currently leading the league in scoring, the 27-year-old is averaging 33.4 points, 8.4 assists, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 47.4 percent from the field.
The Lakers guard is on the way to winning his second scoring title after 2024. A multi-dimensional scorer, Doncic can score from almost all ends of the court. Therefore, he could make for a strong candidate when it comes to breaking the evergreen 100-point record.
Doncic shares his thoughts
Having his name constantly thrown into the discussion of possibly breaking Wilt’s highest scoring game record, Luka Magic finally shared his thoughts. The Lakers guard did not hesitate to admit that scoring 100 points is a task beyond his reach.

“I don’t think so. I scored 73, and it was a lot. It felt like every shot went in but 100? It’s just too much,” said Doncic during the 2026 All-Star Game press conference.
Luka’s statement is largely about the game’s fast pace today, which was not the case in previous eras. Not to mention how coaches usually sit down players on a heater after a point to protect them. Ironically, one cannot deny that it is also a high-scoring league today.
Even if one were to achieve it, they would also have to do so in a way more universally acceptable than Adebayo. Ultimately, it is highly unlikely that any player will ever score triple digits in a single game.
