Fans of Tina Fey’s “Mean Girls” movie starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and more remember the iconic scene between Lohan’s character, Cady Heron, and her crush, Aaron Samuels, played by Jonathan Bennett.
Since the 2004 release of the movie, Oct. 3 has been celebrated as “Mean Girls” day, which is clearly more “fetch” than any other national day of the year.

In “Mean Girls,” Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, begins talking to her crush, Aaron Samuels, played by Jonathan Bennett, “more and more.”
“On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was,” Lohan says in a voiceover in the famous classroom scene.
“It’s October 3rd,” Lohan says in the scene.
Fans have never forgotten the date, and even the film’s stars have paid tribute to it over the years. Lohan shared a post in 2021 of the scene with the caption: “It’s October 3rd.”

Mean Girls memes and GIFs have kept the movie alive, with fans sharing them on social media using #MeanGirlsDay. In 2021, Daniel Franzese, who plays Damian (famous for his line “Oh my god, Danny DeVito, I love you work!“) happily celebrated the day by posting his own set of memes.

The Mean Girls soundtrack from the 2004 film features 14 tracks, including Kelis’ “Milkshake” and Pink’s “God Is a DJ.” But perhaps the most popular song in the film was when the “Plastics” performed “Jingle Bell Rock” at the Winter Talent Show at North Shore High School.
