You’ll start hearing the Blue Angels Wednesday when they roll into town ahead of Seafair.
SEATTLE — Gear up Seattle, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are coming to town this week ahead of Seafair weekend.
You may hear the elite Blue Angels team as they fly into Seattle on Wednesday and during practice flights Thursday before their daily shows throughout the weekend.
If you want a heads up on when to expect noise from the jets or turn your eyes to the sky, the Blue Angels’ schedule is below.

The Blue Angels team, which was founded in 1946, aims to showcase the professionalism of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The elite group travels the country putting on airshows for 11 million spectators each year, including an annual show at Seafair Weekend Festival in Seattle.
Other Seafair airshow performers will include the C-130 Fat Albert, which is used for Blue Angels logistics, the U.S. Marine Corps F-35B, the U.S. Air Force F-16, P-51 Mustang and C-17 Globemaster III, among others.
Officers on the Blue Angels team typically serve for two to three years before returning to the fleet, and enlisted personnel typically serve three to four years. This year, several enlisted personnel have roots in western Washington, including Fat Albert flight engineer Brandon Wishard of Tacoma, who helps transport road crew personnel, supplies and equipment to each show site.
In addition to the Blue Angels, the Apollo Mechanical Cup Hydroplane Race will take place throughout Seafair weekend on Lake Washington. KING 5 will broadcast the hydroplane race finals on KONG and KING 5+ on Sunday, Aug. 3 from 12-5 p.m. Download KING 5+ on your TV to stream for free.
