Last week, Andrade El Idolo made his shocking return to AEW, and now it sounds like we’re about to see another WWE Superstar join him soon.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the recent departure of Santos Escobar on Wrestling Observer Radio, and while Alvarez believes Escobar might have already put pen to paper to join AEW, Meltzer noted he’s heard from multiple people in WWE who expect him to land there.
“Unless he signed at the last minute, he is done,” Dave Meltzer said. “They’ve been expecting him to leave for some time. They obviously took him away from Angel and Humberto for that very reason—not expecting him to stay—and yeah, he is gone,” Meltzer said. “I do know multiple people there who expect him to go to AEW. I don’t know if he does or he doesn’t. He’s 41 years old. I don’t know. Some people they take, some people they don’t.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
