Subnautica 2 Players Locate Conduit Crystals and Celestine on Proteus

Early access players of Subnautica 2 on the planet Proteus are diving into deep-sea regions as of May 16, 2026, to gather rare resources required for critical equipment progression. Explorers are searching for Conduit Crystals and Celestine near alien structures to upgrade their survival gear.

As reported by games.gg and Eurogamer, these materials are mandatory for crafting the Feedback Resonator and the Modification Station. Conduit Crystals spawn roughly 1700 meters east of the starting Life Pod, inside the Angel Comb region near a large alien control center.

Screen Rant reported that these crystals appear as single units instead of clusters, which makes them highly rare. Players are using scanner outposts to find the nodes hidden behind rock formations or alien architecture at great depths.

“The Feedback Resonator is an upgrade for the Sonic Resonator that lets it damage shielded enemies, including Bloom Cankers, that standard equipment cannot touch effectively,” reported games.gg regarding the utility of the crystals.

The material is also needed for the Bioscanner tool to unlock biological upgrades called Biomods. Without these tools, survivors face extreme difficulty navigating darker waters during mid-to-late game encounters.

“The Bioscanner is the gateway to unlocking new Biomods, so if you are trying to expand your biological upgrade options, Conduit Crystals are the bottleneck,” games.gg noted regarding the crafting requirements.

According to PC Gamer and FandomWire, players are also exploring the Karakorum region for Celestine, a blue crystal located about 1000 meters east of the Lifepod. This resource typically spawns at depths of 250 meters near the Needler’s Nest area.

The mineral is required to craft the Tadpole Depth Module, which protects vehicle hulls from breaching during deep dives. Hand-harvesting works for small nodes, but larger deposits require a Sonic Resonator or Feedback Resonator for extraction.

“This blue crystal is one of the trickier mid-game resources to locate,” FandomWire stated, highlighting the difficulty for beginners who lack the necessary scanning tools.

Experts recommend carrying extra oxygen and medkits due to hostile creatures like Needlers and Bloom Cankers. Scanner Stations remain the most efficient way to track both materials within a 300-meter radius of a player base.
