PSG could become just the second back-to-back winner of the Champions League era (Real Madrid 2016, 2017 and 2018) after marching to the final by dispatching two other English teams in the knockout stages. Meanwhile, the Gunners are looking for their first European championship, which would cap a dream season that saw the club win its first English Premier League title in 22 years.

Arsenal is making its first appearance in the Champions League final since 2006, a defeat at the hands of the Barcelona. PSG has dominated French soccer since the 2011 Qatari takeover, winning 10 of the last 12 league titles while employing some of the biggest names in the sport.

But European glory eluded the Parisians until last year’s 5-0 win over Inter Milan in Munich

• Jon Arnold: PSG 2, Arsenal 1 – Without a match being played in the Champions League, the momentum heading into the final has shifted. Arsenal is riding on a high after winning the Premier League, and PSG lost its Ligue 1 finale to Paris FC. Otherwise a dead rubber, Ousmane Dembélé’s injury in the match combined with Achraf Hakimi’s likely absence will make Luis Enrique’s week much more nervous. I still trust him to get it done.
• Jesse Yomtov: PSG 2, Arsenal 0 – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could have a field day on the left with Arsenal, who could be down to third-choice right back for the final, with Jurrien Timber in a race to return after two months on the shelf.
